The sleeping position most recommended by health care professionals is the side-sleep position. In the side-sleep position, the body is kept most neutral when leg spacing and torso support is provided. The Teardrop Body Pillow is both a leg spacer and torso support and adapts to each user’s unique body shape.
Stomach sleeping is the worst sleeping position for the body, placing abnormal stress on the neck, shoulders, ribs, upper back, lower back, jaw and vital organs. The rotational stress placed on the neck can lead to stretching of the cervical nerve roots, causing pain and muscle spasm.
Stomach sleepers have an engrained need for stomach warmth and support. Until this desire is fulfilled, stomach sleepers will find it difficult to try any other position. The Teardrop Body Pillow easily satisfies this need, offering both a fully supported staggered position (between stomach and side sleeping) and a fully supported side sleep position.
Leg spacers space the legs and thus support the pelvis neutrally, yet pay no regard to the torso. A side sleeper with pelvis support, yet without torso support, may experience more spinal discomfort than if neither were supported, due to increased spinal rotation and lateral flexion. The Teardrop Body Pillow supports both the pelvis and the torso allowing maximal spinal support (via both torso support & leg spacing) and body comfort.
The Teardrop Body Pillow is made of lightweight, adaptive, open cell viscoelastic memory foam. What this means is that it is easy to maneuver and yet still adapts to the unique shape of each user. Each unit comes with full instructions for use.
Teardrop Body Pillows come in both 6″ (6x10x28″) and 7″ (7x11x28″) sizes. Our general recommendation for sizing is to choose the 6″ Teardrop Body Pillow if you are 5’10” (177.5 cm) or shorter. Choose the 7″ Teardrop Body Pillow if you are taller.
– Allow the heat and weight of your body to settle onto the pillow. The adaptive character of the foam takes a few seconds to fully activate.
The Teardrop Body Pillow made of supportive, yet lightweight, open cell viscoelastic memory foam. This specific material allows the pillow to adapt to its individual user, yet is easily maneuverable.
Triangular wedges do not adapt to the contours of the body and were designed instead specifically to prop up the knees and/or upper body during back resting and sleeping.
